About Us

Where we come from

F.X.Rudegeair, CPA is a small, local accounting firm formed by Francis X. (Frank) Rudegeair in 1994 after a carer with a major accounting frim and after service as the Chief Financial Officer of several small public/privately held companies.

When he began his firm, Mr. Rudegeair had as his objective, the development of his entrepreneurial skills by operating his own practive and at the same time to seek clients who need assistance in the start up and/or development of a small business. After the establishment of a relationship, he continues by responding to their needs for assistance in overseeing the financial aspects of  their operations as well as to assist with their personal financial needs.

Since 1994 the practice has grown to a level where part-time assistance is now required for clerical support. However, all client interactions are handled under the direct supervision of Mr. Rudegeair.

Mr. Rudegeair is a 1967 graduate of the University of Scranton in Scranton, PA with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.

Immediately upon his graduation from the University, he joined Arthur Andersen & Co. in their New York City office.  During the eight years of his Public Accounting career with Andersen, he was responsible for the planning, supervision and review of the audit engagements of various public and privately held companies. He left the frim in 1979 as an Audit Manager to purse a career in the private sector.

During his time with Andersen. Mr. Rudegeair took a four-year "leave of absence" to serve in the United States Navy.

Upon entering the private sector, Mr. Rudegeair worked for several small companies in the capacity of Chief Financial Officer and was a member of their Executive Committee.  He had responsibility for administrating the financial aspects of the day-to-day operations of entities with sales between $8 Million and $20 Million and employees between 20 and 100 people.

As these entities grew and became a part of larger entities ( through merger or acquisition) Mr. Rudegeair made the decision to begin his own Accounting Firm to service the smaller companies who had a need for his experience and expertise.
